7 things the British Embassy can, and cannot, do for British Nationals.

They Can;

1/ Issue replacement passports.

2/ Provide advice about transferring money.

3/ Provide assistance if you have been the victim of a serious crime and/or have been hospitalised.

4/ Provide details of local lawyers, hospitals, interpreters and funeral directors.

5/ Contact you as soon as possible if you have been arrested or detained.

6/ Contact your family and friends in the UK on your behalf.

7/ Make special arrangements, in instances of terrorism, civil disturbances and natural disasters, to assist you.

They Cannot;

1/ Get you out of prison, prevent you from being deported or interfere with court proceedings.

2/ Help you enter Thailand or obtain visas on your behalf.

3/ Provide legal advice, investigate crimes or search for missing persons.

4/ Get you preferential treatment in hospitals or prison.

5/ Give you money or pay bills on your behalf.

6/ Make travel arrangements for you, or find you work or accommodation.

7/ Make appointments or business arrangements on your behalf.

Police stations and police offices in Pattaya

The two Pattaya police stations with more than 200 policemen in uniform or incognito take care of your safety while being in Pattaya.
